DIGITAL VOLUME TOMOGRAPHY

Digital Volume Tomography (DVT) is a three-dimensional, imaging tomography procedure using X-rays, which is mainly used in ear, nose, and throat medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and dentistry.

Applications:

• Implant planning
• Anatomical localization of displaced and retained teeth as well as wisdom teeth
• Presentation of inflammatory bony changes in the area of ​​the tooth roots and for the planning of apicectomy
• Representation of the endodontics (tooth interior and root canals)
• Representation of tooth injuries
• Representation of the tooth support apparatus for periodontal therapy
• Overlay-free display of tooth number and tooth shape anomalies prior to orthodontic treatment
• Representation of the temporomandibular joints, e.g. in the case of osteoarthritis
